The LOACC is a community focal point that celebrates aging through creative, inspiring and exciting opportunities that promote independence, as well as physical and emotional wellness.
The ACC Applies for National Accreditation!
During closure week this year, Center staff and various community leaders will gather to kick off the National Accreditation Process for the Adult Community Center through the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC). The ACC has applied for national accreditation and must go through an evaluation and critic process with both community and national leaders. In order to obtain recognition as being a successful model for senior centers throughout the nation, the ACC must demonstrate or show compliance with the nine national standards established by NISC. The entire process is expected to take several months and will hopefully result in the ACC being awarded national accreditation in 2011.
