Do you know someone who recently lost their favorite dog or
cat? Not sure how to comfort them? We have something that
every pet owner has appreciated receiving during their time
of sadness and loss, the Pet Memorial Fund.
The
Lake Oswego Public Library is one of just a few libraries
in the country that has established a pet memorial collection
as a lasting way of remembering a beloved pet.
A patron's testimonial:
“I received notice from the library that my cat Harmony's two memorial books were in, and I checked them out yesterday to read them. I wanted to let you and the librarian know how thrilled I am by these choices! I'm impressed that Marshmallow was a 1943 Caldecott Honor Book and was interested to learn about the author's local roots. Twinkles, Arthur and Puss had me guessing, just like it will young readers, I'm sure. I appreciate these thoughtful choices with their wonderful stories and illustrations. They are a terrific memorial to my cat Harmony (who actually looked a little like the cat Oliver in Marshmallow).”
Regards, Suzanne S. Cushing
