One of the best books I have read in a while. Cassandra Clare has you on the edge of your seat the entire time. You won't want to put it down. The City of Lost Souls is the most recent book in the Mortal Instruments series which takes place a few generations after the Infernal Devices series in the Modern Day. The main story follows Clary as she tries to seperate the bond that was forged between Jace and Sebastian. What happens to Jace also affects Sebastian. To kill one is to kill the other. And if this wasn't bad enough on its own, Jace also seems to be totally under the influence and will of Sebastian. Unlike the clave, Clary has hopes that the bond can be seperated. The story also follows Simon, as he tries to help Clary find a cure for the bond and deal with the everyday struggles of being a vampire,Alec and Magnus, whose relationship is put to the test, and Isabelle as she sorts out her feelings for Simon and, above all else, tries to put a stop to Sebastian once and for all. It is a great book, skillfully written. I would recommend it to all who have read the previous books. To all who haven't yet read the series, the events may not make much sense so I highly recommend reading the first books (book one is called City of Bones). I would also suggest reading the Infernal Devices (by the same author).
