Call to Order/Roll Call Renee Kozlowski called the meeting of the Youth Leadership Council (YLC)to order at 5:15 p.m. in Council Chambers, 380 A Avenue, Lake Oswego, Oregon. Members Present: Sofia Marin-Quiros, Seba Marin-Quiros, Natalie Goldberg, Renee Kozlowski, Brooke Baker, River Smith, Kyle Langford,Jensen Kaelin, Michael Murray, Claire Fennell Members Excused/Absent Margo Sidline; Daniel Nguyen Staff: Jenny Slepian, Sustainability and Management Analyst Public: Joe Buck Announcements from Board and Staff • The Oregon Youth Summit is in Salem on February 22 Approval of Minutes The January minutes were approved. Public Comment None Regular Business A. Council Update Councilor Nguyen was not present for an update.Jenny gave a brief update that the City Council passed a diversity and inclusion resolution and wants to diversify Boards and Commissions. B. 2019 Project Planning T-shirt/Lines for Life video with LOPDtv • Jenny needs a script by the next meeting • Natalie, Sofia, and Kyle are in charge of the script National League of Cities City Summit Conference • San Antonio conference in November • Happy Valley raised money through a strategic letter-writing campaign Shred Day is on May 18th LO Speaks • Everyone needs to confirm with speakers that May 4th works for them • Think of intermission activities, or possibly selling shirts • Snapchat filter for advertising • Chat to the ACS teachers about extra credit • Everyone on semesters has to talk to one (1)teacher about doing extra credit for LO Speaks Shirts • Brainstormed ways to try to sell the shirts • Artfully bleach them • Make them uglier? • Suggested donation for shirts at Shred Day and LO Speaks River gets to judge the reusable bag competition Youth Forum Part 2 • Talked about a new format for the forum, including small table discussions before group conversation • Creating conversation expectations together New Meeting formats • We discussed a new format for the meetings to learn about more parts of the city • New locations, building tours, ride alongs, etc. Meeting was adjourned at 6:54 Respectfully submitted, Jenny Slepian Sustainability and Management Analyst City of Lake Oswego Youth Leadership Council Minutes Page 2 of 2 February 6, 2019
