The Lakewood Center for the Arts serves as a cosponsor with the Chamber of Commerce and the City's Parks and Recreation Department of the annual Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, during which 18,000 people attend performances at the Center and in the park, and view more than 900 artworks.

The City of Lake Oswego straddles three different counties. Most of the
city lies in Clackamas County,
but the northern edge of town penetrates into
Multnomah County, and
the western edge into
Washington County.
Fair Housing Council
The Fair Housing Council is a nonprofit civil rights organization that serves Oregon and SW Washington that works to eliminate illegal housing discrimination.
Garbage, Recycling and Yard Debris
Residents and businesses receive solid waste/garbage and recycling service provided by Allied Waste Services of Lake Oswego (formerly Rossman Sanitary) under a franchise agreement with the City. Allied can be reached at 503-636-3011 or go to http://lakeoswego.disposal.com/.
There is a recycling collection site in the Foothills area at 341 Foothills Drive, operated by Portland Recycling Team. The phone number is 503-228-5375.

Housing Connections
Housing Connections is a user-friendly website launched in the Spring of 2002 that allows renters to look for affordable housing within the Portland-Metro area. It includes:
* A free resource for renters to search for housing. Listings include interactive maps, as well as, photographs of units, screening criteria and applications uploaded directly by the landlords.
* A free service to landlords and property owners, giving them the ability to list their housing on our database. They have complete 24 hour access to update and edit their listings, alter availability, change rent, add specials, etc. all from the convenience of their home or office
computer.
* A free service for agency staff working to relocate special needs renters into available housing which fits their needs.
Lake Oswego Millennium Band
The Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band was formed in September of 1999 in conjunction with the Millennium Celebration Sponsored by the City of Lake Oswego. All of the 70 band members have a desire to perform well and to not only grow musically themselves, but to offer our community the opportunity to appreciate and take pride in the fact that a very fine concert band is alive and well in Lake Oswego.
Lake Oswego School District Foundation
This foundation is
a non-profit organization that strives to reduce student teacher ratios in
Lake Oswego by accepting donations from parents, local businesses, and citizens
of the community. Money raised by the foundation goes directly to fund

Metropolitan Area Communications Commission (MACC)
The Metropolitan Area Communications Commission (MACC) administers the cable television franchise agreement between the City of Lake Oswego and Comcast (formerly AT&T) Cable. Metropolitan Regional Agencies
The prime regional government agency is Metro, which serves as the
clearinghouse for all federal grants to local agencies and regional land use
authority. It oversees regional garbage disposal; manages parks, green-spaces,
the Oregon Zoo, the Oregon Convention Center, the Expo Center, Civic Stadium,
the Center for the Performing Arts; and is funded primarily through federal

Tri-Met is the municipal corporation that provides public transportation for
much of the three counties in the Portland metropolitan area. It manages 102 bus
routes (including several to and through Lake Oswego), 33 miles of Max light
rail line, and transportation services for disabled and other special needs

Oswego Heritage House
Built in 1920, the Oswego Heritage House is the site of historic archives, a small library and museum, and office and meeting space for the Council and the community. In 1997, the Oswego Heritage Council purchased the Colonial Revival style building, a former real estate development and sales office. An illustrated history of Lake Oswego, entitled "Iron, Wood & Water" is available for purchase at the Oswego Heritage Council Office.

Lake
The City does not have direct jurisdiction over Oswego Lake, the 3-1/2 mile long
body of water in the center of town. The lake is owned and managed by the
Lake Oswego Corporation,
a homeowners' association. Questions about property easements on the lake,
boating, and the lake's water quality should be directed to the Corporation,
whose telephone number is (503) 636-1422.
Three Rivers Conservancy
The Three Rivers Land Conservancy
is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting open space,
scenic areas, wildlife, and other natural and historic resources in the greater
metropolitan Portland area. Their office is in downtown Lake Oswego.
Willamette Shore Trolley
The historic
Willamette Shore Trolley takes you on a beautiful journey along the
Willamette River in a authentic antique trolley car along a line that boasts
trestles, tunnels and street running. Both ends of the line, at Lake Oswego and
Portland, offer numerous shops and restaurants to explore and enjoy. The one-way
trip is 45 minutes long. Allow 2 hours for round trip travel.
