A New Project Milestone

We have some exciting news to share. As of today, the City is officially accepting proposals from contractors to build the Boones Ferry Road improvement project! The request for proposals was advertised in the Daily Journal of Commerce, and the proposal period will be open until 2:00 PM on April 9, 2019.

Once the period ends, the City and project team will evaluate proposers on a set of criteria and then interview contractors before selecting a preferred contractor. The contract award is currently set to go to City Council on May 21.

This is a tremendous milestone – we are one step closer to breaking ground on the project this summer!

Once a contractor is hired, we’ll invite you to meet the contractor’s staff and our project team who will help keep everyone informed during construction.

Major construction is expected to start this summer and will take about two and a half years.

If you missed the open house in January and want to learn more about the project, check out this new video “Building A Better Boones Ferry Road” which provides an overview of the project, and has some great footage from our open house of community members talking about elements they are excited to see over the coming years!

If you were unable to attend the open house, the boards and maps are available on the materials page of the website. A meeting summary is also posted  here.
