Background on Forest Market

The Friends of Tryon Creek’s Forest Market is an annual holiday shopping event that draws hundreds of visitors every year to Tryon Creek State Natural Area. Forest Market offerings reflect the Friends’ passion for the wonders of nature and the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable living: Items are locally made, handcrafted and celebrate the natural world. From ceramics, accessories, jewelry, hand-woven baskets, organic body care products and holiday items to one-of-a-kind art pieces and much more, there is something that is sure to please everyone on your holiday list.

A portion of proceeds goes directly to support the Friends’ efforts to restore the park to its most natural state and educate children about the science of nature, so Forest Market visitors can find beautiful gifts for loved ones and support the Friends at the same time.
