In July 2012, the City Council approved a revised Foothills Framework Plan that defines a guiding vision and specific recommendations for redevelopment of the Foothills District into a vibrant mixed use neighborhood connecting downtown Lake Oswego with the Willamette River. The adopted Framework Plan recommends urban renewal as a tool for funding the public infrastructure needed to support private development in the District. To begin implementation of this recommendation, a focus group has been convened to provide input on development of a Foothills urban renewal plan. The focus group met once in September and will meet again on October 18.
A public meeting is set for 7 p.m., October 24 at City Hall, to give residents an opportunity to hear about the proposed plan.
