The core purpose of the Engineering Division is to provide quality engineering services for the City of Lake Oswego consistent with environmental values, safety standards and the needs of the community.
The Engineering Division manages the design and
construction of the City's infrastructure, including surface water, water, wastewater collection, and transportation. In addition, the Engineering Division provides technical support for the Willamette Shore Trolley, oversees the Water Treatment Plant and provides GIS mapping services. Read more...

A Avenue Rehabilitation Project
The A Avenue Rehabilitation Project will include repaving all of A Avenue from State Street to 10th Street, replacing most of the sidewalk corner curb ramps, redesigning a median to allow left turns and eastbound A Avenue onto northbound 3rd St., and to improve stormwater facilities (i.e. catch basins). This project is scheduled to begin in July and continue until Labor Day. Click on the link above to learn about the project.
2012 Water Rehabilitation Project
The 2012 Water Rehabilitation Project will include replacing old, undersized pipelines and pipelines that do not meet engineering design criteria for peak water demands and fire flow. Stormwater Code Revision and Design Manual Update
The Stormwater Code/Design Manual Project will establish requirements to protect and improve Lake Oswego's water resources, meet regulatory requirements, and ensure transparency in how stormwater requirements are applied and enforced. The Lake Oswego Interceptor Sewer (LOIS) lies below the surface of Oswego Lake. Construction is currently underway to replace the LOIS system to correct deficiencies in wet weather capacity and earthquake resistance.
