Water Pump Station Modifications - WO #070

Current Update

The City is currently making significant upgrades to three of its water pump stations.  These upgrade needs were identified through the conduct of several studies: the update of the City's water master plan, a seismic vulnerability analysis of the City's water infrastructure and a vulnerability analysis required by the federal government pursuant to the Homeland Security Act.  When completed these pump stations will be more energy efficient, more reliable, less prone to loss of service from earthquakes and "hardened" against the possibility of acts perpetrated against these facilities with the intent to disrupt our drinking water supply.  The cost to make these improvements is close to $2M dollars and despite the challenges of making these improvements while maintaining normal operations, the City's City's Contractor expects to be substantially complete in August 2007.
