Audits
State law requires a financial audit be made of the
financial affairs of every municipal corporation at least once
a year. These
annual audits have found that the City’s financial statements
present fairly the City’s financial condition and are in
conformance with generally accepted accounting principles
applied on a consistent basis.
Budgets
The City Council adopts a budget that is basically the
financial plan for the City. It incorporates the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan, that is reviewed periodically. The budget forms the basis for budget
appropriations and includes any revisions or adjustments
made by the Citizens Budget Committee.

Strategic Financial Plan
This is the City’s 5-year strategic financial plan that answers the question, “How is the City of Lake Oswego doing and where is it headed financially?” This plan is a living document and serves as a working tool for those tracking City finances. It shows each fund’s actuals over the last 5 years, the current budget by fund, and fund projections over the next 5 years.
Urban Renewal (LORA)
The urban renewal agency for the City of
Lake Oswego is known as LORA, the Lake Oswego Redevelopment
Agency. The Finance Department prepares three reports that cover
the financial activities of LORA.
Fees and Charges
The City charges fees for a variety of services,
from building plans and police reports to athletic field uses
and commercial filming. The City annually updates the booklet
that serves as a consolidated document of all City fees, charges,
and SDC methodologies.
Municipal Bonds and Continuing Disclosure
Review the historic official statements of the City's various bond issues, debt service payment schedules, and required annual continuing disclsoure information.
Block Party Permit Application
This permit is required to close a public street in order to conduct a neighborhood block party. A “Block Party” is a gathering organized by members of the neighborhood abutting the street to be closed, for the enjoyment of neighborhood residents.
Special Events/Movie Permits
Production companies are required to obtain a Permit for Special Events within a Public Right-of-Way or on City Property whenever an event involves the closure or restriction of other than a local, residential street or restriction or closure of a local, residential street for more than 12 hours. Permits are also required when the event involves the use of a City park or other City facility.
