Since 1988, the Lake Oswego Public Library has enjoyed a strong tradition of community volunteer support. Over 500 volunteers take part in making the Library a thriving community center—contributing 13,909 hours just last year—and we’re always looking for more help! Volunteers range in age from twelve to retired. Even whole families and civic groups volunteer their time to work together on projects.
Just about every sort of opportunity is available to our volunteers, from clerical work and data entry to fundraising or hosting open mic nights and video game tournaments. Here are just a few of the possible ways you can help out:
Not only will you gain experience doing work that interests you and a sense of satisfaction for contributing to your community, there’s another perk too! Any volunteer who works 50 hours in one year will automatically be designated a Bonus Volunteer, and will no longer need to pay fines on overdue materials or rental fees!
So volunteer today, and become a vital part of one of Lake Oswego’s most treasured resources!
