Welcome to our Fourth Street Bulletin.  It will provide you with news and interesting tidbits about our award-winning Library, located at Fourth Street and D Avenue in Lake Oswego.

Concert

Our November First Tuesday concert featured local pianist and recording artists Sally Harmon and her husband, bass player Frank Gruner.  First Tuesday music programs are made possible by the Friends of the Library.  For information about future programs go to http://www.ci.oswego.or.us/library/AdultCalendar.htm

Author Talk

Local author Sara Ryan presented our November Third Tuesday author talk.  A Multnomah County librarian who also writes novels and comics, Ryan read from her work, answered questions about writing and publishing, and led the group through a few writing exercises.  The Third Tuesday author series is made possible by the Friends of the Library. Computer Classes

We’re offering free classes:  Keyboarding and Internet Searching, Email Basics, and Advanced Internet Searching, which includes the deep web, the invisible web, and web 2.0.  Classes are from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Thursdays.  To sign up, call 503-675-2540.

 

High School Art Show

We’re hosting an art show with creations by 9th-12th grade Lakeridge and Lake Oswego High School students.  You can view the art on our main floor through the end of November.

Puppet Show

Our November Second Saturday Special show for kids featured Oregon Fantasy  Puppet Theatre’s production of “The Story of Jumper the Pony.”  Master puppeteer Celeste Rose creates colorful marionette puppets and original stories that never fail to delight kids.  Second Saturday programs are made possible by the Friends of the Library.  For information on upcoming children’s events go to http://www.ci.oswego.or.us/library/calendar/ChildrensPrograms.htm

Thanksgiving Craft for Kids
