Library Salutes Volunteers at Luncheon
Mayor Jack Hoffman and hundreds of Library volunteers poured into Oswego Country Club for the 34th Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. Festivities were capped off by the Mayor’s stirring proclamation, in which he cited astounding statistics about Library volunteers. “…in the past fiscal year, our loyal volunteers have provided an impressive total of 13,909 hours of invaluable service to the Library, which is the equivalent of nearly 7 full time staff…” The Library has over 500 active volunteers who contributed 13,909 volunteer hours in Fiscal Year 09-10. Thanks in part to volunteers, the Library has been rated number one in the state for the seventh year in a row. Pictured above is Mayor Hoffman receiving a “check” for $255,520 worth of volunteer labor from Library Director Bill Baars and Volunteer Coordinator Cyndie Glazer. |
