Spotlight on Technical Services’ Todd Mecklem
Todd began working in our Technical Services department in 2005, although he’s worked in libraries since 1987. A Portland native, Todd’s hobby is foreign travel. He’s visited 21 countries and plans to go to Taiwan this fall. A published author (stories, poems and articles) Todd also enjoys photography. In fact, one of his photos can be seen on the National Geographic Kids site. http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/games/puzzlesquizzes/green-cars-puzzler/. Todd’s photo of green electric cars, taken in downtown Portland, can be made into a virtual puzzle of up to 96 pieces.

Stafford Celebration
The Library and the Friends of William Stafford partnered to present our annual event to honor the renowned poet. Stafford lived in Lake Oswego for years and won the National Book Award in 1963. In 1975 he was appointed Oregon Poet Laureate. Our program featured poetry readings by members of the Lake Oswego Centennial Poetry Project, and the Friends of the Library sponsored our celebration. For more information on William Stafford go to www.williamstafford.org. |

We Love Our Teen Volunteers
It’s summertime, which means there’s an energetic crew of teen volunteers helping us in so many ways. Pictured above is volunteer Deanna Bergmann as she signs up two children for our Make a Splash, Read! summer reading club. |
Teen Advisory Board
Our lively group of high school students meets monthly throughout the year to plan, promote and host programs for teens at the Library. The Board recently celebrated another successful year of service to the Library with a traditional end-of-the-year cake. The Teen Advisory Board was established in 1999.
