Fourth Street Bulletin: October 2010, Issue 1
Welcome to our Fourth Street Bulletin. It will provide you with news and interesting tidbits about our award-winning Library, located at Fourth Street and D Avenue in Lake Oswego. We hope you enjoy it! |
Fall Round of Friends Grants
Our beloved Friends of the Library approved another group of grants to enhance our Library services for YOU! The $25,000 they donated included funding for: the First Tuesday music concerts, our local history collection, special shows for kids, cultural passes, and the Fifth Annual Lake Oswego Reads program. In addition, the programs described below all were made possible by our dedicated Friends of the Library. |
And the Winner is…Us!
Well our Teen Advisory Board that is. As they do every year, the teens created a public service announcement for our 2009 teen summer reading program, which TCVTV videotaped, aired, and submitted to a national competition sponsored by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA). And OUR piece was the national winner in the library category. |
Read Out Loud
To celebrate Banned Books Week, we presented a “Read Out Loud” event featuring the Lakeridge High School Newspaper team. They discussed student press rights history and how Oregon law fights censorship. For information on upcoming programs go to
