Model trains

Trains in the Library?

You bet!  We recently hosted two huge model train displays provided by the Beaverton Modular Railroad Club.  Our children’s room and the main floor were buzzing with excited onlookers throughout the weekend.

Children’s Dollhouse

After thirty years, our well-loved children’s room dollhouse needed replacement.  Local artist Edith Brandon, pictured above, painted and decorated our new dollhouse, which is guaranteed to be hit with our young visitors.  Drop by and check it out!

 

Art literacy bulletin boards

Partnering with Local Schools

For decades, we’ve partnered with local school Art Literacy programs by displaying student artwork on our bulletin boards.  Pictured above is an amazing display created by Bryant Elementary students.

Recycle?  Do We Ever!

We recycled or reused over 1,490 pounds of material during 2010.  What kinds of material?  Primarily plastic products, such as broken media cases, irreparably damaged CDs and DVDs, and new media cases unsuitable for Library use.
