Fourth Street Bulletin: April 2012

Welcome to our Fourth Street Bulletin. It will provide you with news and interesting tidbits about our award-winning Library, located at Fourth Street and D Avenue in Lake Oswego. We hope you enjoy it!

Friends of the Library

“We Get By with (A LOT) of Help from Our Friends”
The Friends of the Library, that is!  They manage the Booktique bookstore in Mercantile Plaza, and donate profits to the Library.  Here’s the new list of projects they’re funding: 

  • DVD’s and CD’s for learning foreign languages
  • Storytelling Festival this coming fall
  • “Lucky Day” collection of books and audiovisual items for Library visitors
  • Adult Summer Reading Club prizes
  • Sumer Reading Club Prizes for youth
  • Books for Babies born in Lake Oswego families
  • Refreshments served at special events

Arbor Week at the Library (April 1-7)
Look for tree-related displays around the library during the first week in April.  Kids of all ages can celebrate Arbor Week by coming to our drop-in craft on Saturday, April 7th between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Participants can make beautiful Blossom Tree Branches at this fun craft event.  No sign up is necessary.


LOPL

National Library Week (April 8-14)
Celebrate YOUR Lake Oswego Public Library during National Library Week!  Stop by the Library on Friday, April 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and have your photo taken with your library card and a special LOPL button.  Enjoy snacks provided by the Friends of the Library.
