Jay Frasier

The "I Love to Read Magic Show" with Jay Frasier

Saturday, October 9 at 11:00 a.m.

“Magic is a wonderful art form.  It reminds us that there is mystery and wonder in the world around us.  I have loved magic since I was four years old and someone showed me a card trick.  I hope to give my audiences the same feeling of astonishment I felt…I oftentimes have kids literally rolling on the floor with laughter during my shows.”  Frasier’s shows are a combination of sleight-of-hand, physical comedy, and audience participation that results in a unique entertainment experience.  The recipient of the Dom Deluise Comedy Magic Scholarship, Frasier is an accomplished magician, balloon sculptor, and educator.  Genii magazine included him in a collection of the country’s top children’s performers.  He’s a full-time speech communication instructor at Lane Community College in Eugene.

Jill Trenholm

Jill's Pail: A Kids' Concert with Jill Trenholm

Saturday, November 13 at 11:00 a.m.

Singer/songwriter Jill Trenholm loves to perform for audiences of all ages.  Her extensive career includes playing guitar and singing in a Levi’s commercial and opening for Michael McDonald at Maryhill’s Amphitheater.  When her own children were small, Trenholm developed her “Jill’s Pail” music program for children, in which she inspires them to use rhythm instruments to play along with her.  The topics of her fun, original kids’ songs range from “Junk Food” to “Table Manners.”

Penty Walter

"Magic Soup" with Penny's Puppet Productions

Saturday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m.

A spinoff of the classic tale “Stone Soup,” Penny’s version includes humor, music, and dancing puppets.  Penny’s Puppet Productions founder Penny Walter states, “I believe imagination is not only for children but is something we should all strive to keep and to honor, for it is through imagination that growth, hope, and inventions are birthed…Children can become so involved with the interaction of the puppets that they do not realize they are learning…”  Walter has a Masters Degree in early childhood education.  She was a teacher in Portland area schools for three years before following her dream of becoming a full-time puppeteer and storyteller.  “Through the centuries, puppets have entertained…Today the power of puppetry is as popular as ever in its use as an educational tool.”   Walter was the resident puppeteer at the Portland Children’s Museum for four years.  She’s performed in Portland Public Schools, Head Start programs, libraries, and festivals.  She teaches puppetry classes for teachers, professionals, and families.

*Please note:
