First Tuesday Music: Songwriters in the Round

Tuesday, October 4, 2016 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Come and experience the joys and challenges of songwriting with extraordinary artists Justin Sheehy, Steve Hale, and Stephanie Scelza.  Each will take turns playing an original composition and share why and how they wrote it. They will regale you with beautiful melodies, intriguing chord changes, and compelling stories about their songs. The library is a perfect environment for this kind of an event because not only is it about authorship, but if helps strip away the veil of the performer and expose the heart of what makes the writer tick. Inviting audience participation, by encouraging questions to the composers about their compositions, it breaks down the wall between artist and audience, making it a deeper, more intrinsic and enjoyable experience.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library and admission is free. The Lake Oswego Public Library is located at 706 4th Street, Lake Oswego. For more information, contact Jane Carr at 503-534-5665.
