The library offers extensive opportunities for children.  Below is a listing of the Summer 2013 programs.

STORYTIMES

Spring storytime session has ended.
Storytimes will resume Tuesday, June 18.

Baby Storytime (birth through 18 months)
     Tuesdays at 11:45 a.m.

Toddler Storytime (19 months to three years old)
     Wednesdays at 11:45 a.m.

Preschool Storytime (three to five years old)
     Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Special Series:  Musical Laptime with Colette Fallon (birth through 18 months)
     Fridays at 10:30 a.m. on June 21, 28, July 5, 12, 19, 26, August 2, 9.
     Gentle musical activities.  Made possible by the Friends of the Library.

CRAFT PROGRAMS (ages 3-5)

Please note:  Sign up is required for craft programs.  Call 503.697.6580 to register.

Make a Burrowing Animal Scene
     Tuesday, July 9 or Wednesday July, 10, at 11:00 a.m.
     Sign up begins Saturday, June 1.

Create a Japanese Hanging Fish
     Tuesday, August 6,  or Wednesday, August 7,  at 11:00 a.m.
     Sign up begins Tuesday, July  9.

ROX IN SOX CHILDREN'S MUSIC AND BOOK FESTIVAL

     Saturday, August 3 from 10:a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the West End Building lawn

Aaron Nigel Smith, PBS KIDS TV personality, director of the international One World Chorus, and Lake Oswego resident, announces the first-ever free outdoor family festival celebrating music and books.  Several of the nation’s top award-winning family music artists and authors will join the day of fun, including Aaron and his One World Chorus, Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, Rhythm Child, Recess Monkey, performers from the Portland Opera,  locally-based “kindie” stars Lori Henriques and Mo Phillips, and puppets from PBS-TV’s “Between the Lions.”  Daylong activities include yoga and other fitness fun, hula hooping, drumming, arts and crafts, face-painting, and at least 20 vendors providing food and activities.  Sponsors for this exciting event include the Northwestern Mutual, the City of Lake Oswego, Lake Oswego Public Library, the Friends of the Library, Wordstock, and many more.  For further details about Rox in Socks go to http://www.roxinsox.com/.

SUMMER READING CLUB CELEBRATION

     Wednesday, August 14, between 2:00-4:00 p.m.
     Claim prizes and enjoy crafts, face painting, music and refreshments.
