Library Teen Advisory Board
Are you a Lake Oswego high school student looking to make a difference in your community? The Library Teen Advisory Board provides an opportunity to have a say in what goes on at the Library, develop planning and leadership skills, and earn community service hours! Organize and host events at the Library, suggest materials for the Library's teen collections, voice your opinions and share ideas. For more information, call 503-697-6580.

Help for Students and Teachers:
The Youth Services Department is eager to serve students and teachers. The following services and resources are available:
ELECTRONIC RESOURCES:
- Online Assignment Alert form. Teachers may request emailed copies of customized resource lists and webliographies to support school assignments. (Click here for form).
- Online Materials Suggestion form. Teachers and parents are invited to suggest titles that would be helpful for school assignments for the Library to consider for purchase. (Click here for form).
- Online databases, accessible from school or home computers, providing invaluable information for school assignments.

LIBRARY MATERIALS:
- Handy resource lists of public library print and audiovisual materials that relate to school assignments.
- Lexile reading levels are noted inside the front cover of the Library’s fiction books for 3rd-6th grades.
- Paperback picturebook collections on popular topics to use in K-2nd grade classrooms.
LIBRARY SERVICES:
- Customized Library tours for classes and individualized Library tours for teachers.
- Assistance from friendly, helpful librarians in selecting appropriate materials and accessing information from online databases.
OUTREACH PROGRAMS:
- Visits to schools to inform teachers, parents, and students about public library resources.
- Visits to schools to provide reading motivation, storytelling, or booktalks.
- Annual library card sign-up campaign.
