Be Heard!
Teens in grades 7-12 can submit reviews of books, audiobooks, music and movies to the Library's Teen Web page using a new online form. The reviews feature a star rating, a place for other people's comments about the title, and a link to the Library's catalog for those wishing to place a hold on the reviewed item. Students may submit as many reviews as they like. Reviews are posted in title order.

Win prizes for reading in Lake
Oswego Library's Teen Summer Reading program! Register, fill out
reading logs and earn raffle tickets all online at www.lakeoswegolibrary.org/teen beginning June 1.
After reading your first book,
select a new paperback book prize. Keep reading and earn great coupons from local businesses.
Earn a raffle ticket for every 100 pages you read. Two
$20 gift cards to Bridgeport Village will be raffled each week in eleven weekly
drawings beginning June 18. That makes 22 chances to win! (Limit one
Bridgeport gift card participant.)
Reading prizes are available beginning June 18. A
dedicated Teen Summer Reading computer will be available on the Library's lower
level. Gift books are made possible by the Friends of the Library and other
coupon prizes are donated by the following sponsors: Jamba Juice, Oaks Amusement Park, Portland Trail Blazers and UU Yogurt.
Writers Group with Young Willamette Writers Coordinator
Corey Stixrud
For teens ages 13-17
Thursday, June 21 at 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Develop your skills at the new writers group facilitated by
Young Willamette Writers coordinator Corey Stixrud. Come prepared to write,
share, and experience the art and craft of writing in this hands-on workshop.
Snacks will be on hand to fuel creative juices. Mr. Stixrud taught for five
years in the West Linn/Wilsonville school district and has worked in various
Portland-area schools as an educational consultant with the Oregon Writing
Project. He is currently a freelance editor and writer. Young Willamette Writers
is the youth program of Willamette Writers, the largest organization for writers

College Workshop Series
The Common Application: How to Maximize Your Impact
Tuesday, June 26, 2:00 p.m.
Subtleties of information on the college application can influence how the applicant is perceived and impact the admissions decision. By examining the Common Application page by page, this workshop shows students how to control the application’s “subtext” to ensure the most favorable read possible. Presenter Tim Cantrick is an independent college counselor serving students in Lake Oswego and the Portland area. He has been counseling students on the college track for thirty years.
