Portland's Local Space Program: Portland State Aerospace Society - 2/25

Saturday, February 25, 2017 - 10:00am to 11:30am

The Portland State Aerospace Society (PSAS) is a student aerospace group at Portland State University that designs, builds and launches intelligent amateur rockets in central Oregon. PSAS has always been a strong advocate of minorities and women in aerospace. In honor of Rise of the Rocket Girls they will have three women engineers describe PSAS rockets and technologies, as well as their experience and the personal challenges they have faced. The three include an undergraduate, a graduate student and a recent graduate.  They will also have displays for all ages to see.

Special Update:  PSAS just heard back from NASA and they have just approved PSAS's application to design and build a small satellite which will be launched as an auxiliary payload.  The students will share more details during their presentation as well as how everybody can participate.
