Citations fall into two categories: violations
and crimes. The appropriate box at the top of the ticket will
have been checked by the police officer to designate which is
charged.
1. Violation
cases: The options are listed on the back of the
ticket. This court does not do Option 4. If
the person does not appear, a default judgment is imposed
and the license may be suspended if the fine is not paid.
2. Criminal cases:
If the citation is a criminal matter, the person must appear
in court at the time designated at the bottom of the ticket.
If he or she does not appear, a warrant will be issued for
the person's arrest, and his or her driver's license may
be suspended.
