Beyond the Duct Tape Wallet
Tuesday, May 8, 6-8 pm (on the lower level)
Start with a wooden base structure that can be embellished however you wish. We’ll provide mosaic tiles, corks, twigs and moss, buttons and bits of metal. Bring along anything you’d like to use.
Beeswax candles can be elegant and fun. They’ll light up your room and they smell good too. Local artist Kathy Karbo shares her technique for sculpting, rolling and layering colors. All supplies will be provided by the Library.
The Youth Action Council proudly presents Story Time at the Library! A special reader's theatre performance of The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins and Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock. Stories are performed by members of the Youth Action Council and volunteer teens. Open to all ages. Free!
Buzzy the Bee takes you on a pollination adventure. Learn about different pollinators, like bees, butterflies and beetles. Be part of a food parade that is here because of these pollinators.
In the tradition of “guerrilla gardening” we’ll teach you to make seed balls that you can plant in your garden or scatter in the wild. All supplies will be provided, in the form of wildflower seeds, dirt and water.
Local artist Addie Boswell will teach you her favorite method for making a rainstick. You can decorate it however you like using paint, pens, washi tape, and more. Recommended for grades K-5.
