LAKE OSWEGO – In October, Lake Oswego citizens and City staff donated over 600 pounds of food to the Oregon Food Bank. Thanks to these generous donations, not only were lives changed for the better, but the City of Lake Oswego become one of the top 10 collection sites in the Portland region.  Your donations provided food for over 100 people, many of them children. With unemployment numbers still high, 270,000 people per month eat meals from emergency food boxes.  Of those, approximately 92,000 are children. 

The City of Lake Oswego applied  for a $115,000 Homeland Security Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) grant for a mobile Emergency Water Purification System. The City was awarded the grant and recently received the System. The mobile Emergency Water Purification System can purify up to 30,000 gallons of water per day from any water source if the existing water system infrastructure were compromised or the water contaminated.

If you travel on Highway 43 to and from work, or during the work day, sign up for traffic updates.  Getting notifications will help you know when to take a different route as the bridge construction has been and will continue to cause lane and road closures with delays.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of 37-year-old Erik John Meiser, who is accused of fatally stabbing Frederick "Fritz" Hayes on September 17, 2012 in his home in the 900 block of Atwater Road.

For Immediate Release Lake Oswego Police Department August 15, 2012 On April 6, 2012, a home invasion robbery occurred on Indian Creek Way in Lake Oswego where two males dressed in black went to a home and displayed what looked like a badge and demanded entrance. 

As a result of a water main break this morning (Tuesday, August 14), Waluga Drive is closed between Parkhill Street and Oakridge Road. This closure will prohibit vehicular access to West Waluga Park. The break caused major damage to the road across both lanes. While initial repairs are expected to take all day, the road should reopen around 3 or 3:30 p.m.
