In continued commitment to community and Veterans, the City of Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Department is privileged to host the second annual tribute to Veterans. The tribute- “Honor Their Service” – will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at Lake Oswego City Hall (380 A Avenue). All veterans, current military, and our community are invited to honor all those who have served. The patriotic program includes inspirational speakers- Colonel Daniel R. Kern, Lieutenant Commander Eric Schuck, SC (Navy Reserve – Air Cargo, Navy Cargo Handling Battalion FIVE), and Jeff Keller father of PFC Andrew J. Keller. In addition to City Officials, there will be musical entertainment, Presentation of Colors and flag folding ceremony from the Lake Oswego Honor Guard, and various information booths. Our local Patriot Guard Riders will ceremoniously parade to City Hall and present American flags at both entrances. We invite you to fill out a complimentary thank you note during the tribute to let deployed soldiers know they warrant the thanks of a grateful community. For a second year, the Tribute is proudly sponsored by Northwest Investment Counselors.
Two weeks prior to the event, Parks & Recreation staffers will tie yellow ribbons on 100 trees downtown and Lower Boones Ferry Road as a tribute to veterans to those still serving in the military.
Veterans are our neighbors, co-workers, friends, family and heroes. Please join us to honor and provide thanks.
This is a free event and no registration required.
