Winter/Spring Class Registration

Registration for Winter/Spring classes opens Monday, December 14 at 10am.

Lake Oswego residents receive priority placement until Friday, December 18 when non-residents are incorporated into available class slots. After that, classes are available to all on a first registered, first placed basis.

   

Lake Oswego Indoor
Tennis Center

The Tennis Center reopened on September 1 after a two-week closure for annual maintenance. In addition to major cleaning of the inside court area, painting the lobby, and totally re-lamping the indoor lights, patrons will not fail to notice that the courts have been resurfaced with a change in color to “US Open Blue.”

The Lake Oswego Indoor Tennis Center, located in Springbrook Park, offers four indoor courts and is open year round for public use. The facility is available for persons of all ages and abilities, and provides a variety of recreational opportunities. These activities offered help build confidence, reinforce self-esteem and encourage socialization.

Throughout the year, Parks & Recreation offers adult tennis lessons, and youth tennis lessons for players of all abilities, ages four and up. Special activities include City League and USTA play, competitive and social ladders, group mixers Tiny Tot Tennis, a summer youth program, junior development/match play opportunities, Special Olympics training, and daily court play. Some of our classes (like Drill & Play) require participants to complete a registration form and turn it into the Tennis Center. Click here to view and print the form.

Hours
The Tennis Center is open every day of the year and courts are available from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily. Staff are available to answer your questions Mondays-Fridays 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.  You may also call Parks & Recreation at 503-675-2549 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Reservations, Rates & Packages
Reservations may be made up to one week in advance by calling the Tennis Center, 503-635-5550, while an attendant is on duty. Attendant hours from September - May are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 12 noon & 1:30 - 8:00 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Hourly Court Time
$15/court hour, pay each time you reserve a court.

Open Court Package
At $15/court hour, package play is a convenient way to make court reservations. Just purchase a lump sum of court time in advance, then call to make a court reservation.

Seasonal Tennis Reservations
Guaranteed court time may be purchased in advance for a particular day and time each week for 4.5 months at a time beginning September through May. To apply for a seasonal reservation, call 503-635-5550. The Seasonal Draw is held the end of July.

Greater Portland City League

Greater Portland City League (City League) is an inter City League run by a board composed of players from member clubs and tennis centers.

                              

Season:           September through May

Match days:    Tuesday and Wednesday 12:00 PM   to 3:00 PM

Fees:                $10.00 City League fees.  Court fees vary by team.

                        

Participation:    Priority is given to present team members. Other players sign up on a

wait list, posted in the lobby of the tennis center.   Normally takes at least one to three years to get on a City League team.  Selection is made by a team review committee, which meets in May.

USTA League

USTA tennis leagues run by the USTA. Levels of play at L.0. are 2.5 through 4.0.  

The L.O. tennis center does not organize the teams.  Captains organize their own teams and buy courts from the tennis center.  Please call Ellen MacPherson at 503-246-5771 for captains' names.

Seasons for League play:

Adult League (19 and over) January to Mid June

Super Senior (60 and over) January to Mid June

Adult Mixed Doubles:      September to January

Senior League: (50 and over)   September to January

Mixed Doubles (Senior):    Winter
