Community Forestry Commission

History

The Community Forestry Commission (CFC) was formed to hear requests concerning Type II tree cutting permits and to hear appeals of the denial of a permit or conditions imposed on an approved permit [LOC 55.02.085 (3 ñ 5), Enacted, 09/06/00].

Mission and Duties

The CFC shall hold public hearings on requests for public hearing or appeals concerning Type II tree cutting permits.

Qualifications

The CFC shall consist of five (5) members appointed for 3-year terms. (The initial terms shall be staggered: one member for one year, 2 members for 2 years, and two members for 3 years.) At least two members of the CFC shall be certified or consulting arborists, and two other members shall be arborculturalists, landscape architects, arborists or persons with other skills, training or experience relating to trees or forestry. Three members shall reside in the City of Lake Oswego.
