This house is significant in that it is a well preserved and fine example of the Vernacular building style. It is also important to note that it is the oldest house in the South Town area. In 1922, William and Gertrude Ewing purchased the property. William Ewing served as the 13th Mayor of Lake Oswego between 1931 and 1939.
