Lake Oswego, Oregon – Citizens in Lake Oswego will join thousands of individuals across the country to celebrate Celebrate National Preservation Month this May. “Discover America’s Hidden Gems!” is the theme of the month-long celebration sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. |
Here in Lake Oswego, Preservation Month 2012 will be observed by:

A Historic Preservation Proclamation issued by Mayor Jack Hoffman at the City Council meeting on May 21.

Presentation of a merit award for historic preservation by a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Board.

Presentation of custom bronze plaques to selected historic property owners.

An exhibit highlighting Lake Oswego’s treasures will be featured throughout the City Hall Lobby and other public venues.

A tour of historic homes designed by the Architect, Richard Sundeleaf on May 19, 2012.

A bike ride commemorating the Oswego Iron Heritage Trail
- Public outreach and Raising awareness of the importance Lake Oswego’s past with the real estate community, building community and other members of the public.
