"Discover America's Hidden Gems!"
 

Lake Oswego, Oregon – Citizens in Lake Oswego will join thousands of individuals across the country to celebrate Celebrate National Preservation Month this May. “Discover America’s Hidden Gems!” is the theme of the month-long celebration sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

 

Here in Lake Oswego, Preservation Month 2012 will be observed by:

 

  • A Historic Preservation Proclamation issued by Mayor Jack Hoffman at the City Council meeting on May 21.

  • Presentation of a merit award for historic preservation by a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Board.

  • Presentation of custom bronze plaques to selected historic property owners.

  • An exhibit highlighting Lake Oswego’s treasures will be featured throughout the City Hall Lobby and other public venues.

  • A tour of historic homes designed by the Architect, Richard Sundeleaf on May 19, 2012. 

  • A bike ride commemorating the Oswego Iron Heritage Trail

  • Public outreach and Raising awareness of the importance Lake Oswego’s past with the real estate community, building community and other members of the public.
