Junior Counselors (Summer Only)

Youth Action Council
The Youth Action Council is a group of Lake Oswego teens who are working with the Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation Department to improve the quality of life for teens in the community.

Legacy Health Systems
Volunteer opportunites at Legacy Hospitals in the Portland area are available for students who are at least 14 years old and have completed 8th grade.
Oregon Museum of Science and Industry
OMSI offers two volunteer programs, one during the summer and one during the school year, for students ages 14-18.
Oregon Food Bank
Learn about ten different ways to volunteer for the Oregon Food Bank. Minimum age varies with the project. Many projects accept volunteers ages 10 and up.
Oregon Health and Sciences University
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and commit to 50 hours of service. Visit the Volunteering at OHSU Web site for more information.
Oregon Humane Society
Find out about volunteer opportunities for students 16 years old and older and the Volunteer Service Learning program for students 12-15 years old.

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center
Students ages 14-18 can apply to volunteer in a number of capacities. This program is popular and space is limited. Call the volunteer office at 503.216.2159. (Students can also inquire about Medical Explorers, an informational program for those interested in medicine. Participants meet twice a month for discussions, lectures, and hands-on activities.)

Tryon Creek State Park
Students may volunteer to be an assistant camp counselor, to work on special events, or to take part in ivy removal. Nature Day Camp and Special Events volunteers must be in high school. Camp volunteers must attend two training sessions and commit to two or more one-week camp sessions. Camp sessions begin in June.
