LAKE OSWEGO – On Friday, November 15, 2013, at about 9:45 pm, one teenager was injured and three more were seriously injured in a two vehicle traffic crash on Kerr Parkway at Lower McNary Parkway.
Lake Oswego Police received numerous reports of an injury traffic crash at the location and arrived a short while later. Officers responded with the Lake Oswego Fire Department and American Medical Response (AMR) and found that one of the vehicles had four teen-aged occupants and the other had a family of four inside. The family of four did not appear to have been injured, but they took themselves to an area hospital for evaluation due to the severity of the crash. The vehicle with the teenagers inside was more seriously damaged and several of the occupants were seriously injured. Fire Department personnel had to extricate the driver from the vehicle, and all four occupants were transported to area hospitals by AMR, three with serious injuries and one with not as serious injuries. The parents of all of the involved teenagers have been notified.
The initial investigation indicates that the vehicle with the teen-aged occupants was on the wrong side of the road when the crash occurred. Thus far, there is no indication of alcohol or drugs having been involved in the crash, but police are still investigating the incident with the assistance of the Clackamas County Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Team (CRAFT).
Kerr Parkway will continue to be completely closed between Boones Ferry Road and Lower McNary Parkway until approximately 5:00 am.
More information will be released as it becomes available.
