The Public
Affairs Department keeps the community informed
about City issues and works on a variety of projects related to City Council Goals.
Whether helping people interact with City government,
preparing Council meeting agendas, or finding documents, our
staff is dedicated to providing prompt service, professional
treatment, and clear communication to meet your needs. The employees

- Creating and overseeing production of the monthly City
newsletter, Hello LO
- Media relations and public information
services
- Preparing advertisements, brochures
and flyers, graphics design, and photography
- Planning meetings and special events
- Preparing Council agendas and meeting minutes
- Arranging for cable television coverage
of public meetings and events
- Performing records management and
research
- Coordinating elections
- Answering concerns about neighborhood
problems or city services
- Referring issues to dispute resolution
- Publish the LODown e-newsletter
