The Public Affairs Department keeps the community informed about City issues and works on a variety of projects related to City Council Goals.

Whether helping people interact with City government, preparing Council meeting agendas, or finding documents, our staff is dedicated to providing prompt service, professional treatment, and clear communication to meet your needs. The employees in our department help by:

  • Creating and overseeing production of the monthly City newsletter, Hello LOHelloLO
  • Media relations and public information services
  • Preparing advertisements, brochures and flyers, graphics design, and photography
  • Planning meetings and special events
  • Preparing Council agendas and meeting minutes
  • Arranging for cable television coverage of public meetings and events
  • Performing records management and research
  • Coordinating elections
  • Answering concerns about neighborhood problems or city services
  • Referring issues to dispute resolution
  • Publish the LODown e-newsletter

Citizen Information Center

Consider the Citizen Information Center your concierge for the City. No matter what service you need, information you seek, or concern you may have, the Citizen Information Center is here to help you or find someone who can. If you aren't sure who to talk to or where to go, this friendly office is a great place to start.
