The core purpose of the Engineering Division is to provide quality engineering services for the City of Lake Oswego consistent with environmental values, safety standards and the needs of the community.
We are committed to excellence in infrastructure management, planning, design and construction. This includes surface water, wastewater (sewers), water and transportation. Within the charge, there are a number of other services provided by the division.

Design, construction, and inspection of public infrastructure projects

Review and analysis of development proposal for consistency with land use ordinances, codes, and standards, including erosion control and system inspections during construction

These CAD standards were developed to aid engineers, designers and draftpersons in producing plans for construction within the City of Lake Oswego. They are intended to provide a coordinated, uniform and economical system for preparation of sanitary sewer, storm drainage, water and street construction plans.

The Lake Oswego Transportation System includes more than 178 miles of streets, 26 traffic signals, 12.0 miles of pedestrian pathways, and shared ownership of the Jefferson Street Rail Line within the city limits.
