Rain Gardens

City of Lake Oswego Oregon Official Website

A rain garden is a sunken, generally flat-bottomed garden bed that collects and treats stormwater runoff from rooftops, driveways, sidewalks, parking lots, and streets. Rain gardens help mimic natural forest, meadow, or prairie conditions by infiltrating stormwater from hard surfaces (Oregon Rain Garden Guide, 2011)
