Through a Downtown Revitalization Workshop series program sponsored by Metro, Michele Reeves of Civilis Consultants engages audiences of downtown property and business owners, residents, and City representatives with an analysis of how downtown Lake Oswego could become a more successful business district. Reeves applies her national retail expertise to review downtown L.O.’s strengths and opportunities and recommend ways to make downtown more engaging and pedestrian-friendly -- including adding color and lighting to storefronts, taking down non-functional awnings, creating more engaging window displays, focusing on the pedestrian experience rather than parking, fostering a vibrant mix of active ground floor uses, creating a staffed downtown organization, and much, much more.
A Field Trip on February 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. will provide a tour of a successful local mixed-use district. Call 503-534-4225 for details.
A Marketing and PR Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. The event will take place in downtown Lake Oswego at Waluga Masonic Lodge, 417 Second St.
