America Recycles Day Collection Event - Saturday, November 16

Saturday, November 16, 2013 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm

The City and Republic Services are teaming up to host this unique recycling collection event in recognition of America Recycles Day. Many items that cannot be recycled at the curb such as batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), eyeglasses, ink cartridges, cell phones, and plastic film will be collected for reuse or recycling through various collection partners (details below). Plus several non-profits will be accepting items for reuse or as fundraisers, in addition to providing lots of great information and ideas, activities for kids, and more.

America Recycles Day is recognized to promote recycling and environmental awareness by Keep America Beautiful. Recycling is one of the easiest things that we can do to help our environment. This is a great time to think about ways that you can reduce waste, reuse as much as possible, and recycle whenever you can.

Join us at the West End Building in the Willamette Room from 2 to 5 pm and bring your acceptable unique items for recycling or reuse; also learn more about curbside recycling, business recycling, and other great reuse and recycling programs in and around Lake Oswego.

There will also be refreshments and a drawing for Portland Trailblazers tickets, compliments of Republic Services!

This free event is intended for Lake Oswego residents; materials will not be accepted from businesses.
