Permit Types and Requirements
A permit is required to remove a tree 6 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH) or greater. Click here for the City’s Tree Removal Guide with instructions on how to measure DBH and more detailed information on tree removal permit types and click here for application forms.
You may apply for a permit in person on the third floor of City Hall, 380 A Avenue, or mail in the application for some permit types. The Reference table of permit types summarizes the tree permits, submittal requirements and fees.
Eligible tree removal applications may be mailed, along with a check for the application fee made out to the ‘City of Lake Oswego’, to:
City of Lake Oswego
PO Box 369
Lake Oswego, OR 97034
E-permitting is currently only available for contractors with a CCB number at http://www.oregon-epermitting.info/ by clicking on the E-permitting system link on the left hand side. The City is currently working on an online permitting system that will be available to the general public in the near future.
