I. Call to Order / Roll Call <br />CITY OF LAKE OSWEGO <br />Tourism Advisory Committee Minutes <br />Council Chambers <br />May 26, 2017 -Special <br />Chair Bill Tierney called the meeting to order at 10:15 an. <br />Members present: Roger Beebe, Andrew Edwards, Lori Gaffney (participating by phone), Bill <br />Tierney (participating by phone), Brian Monihan (participating by phone) and Councilor Jackie <br />Manz. <br />Excused absence: Megan Lau Pozos, Marylou Colver, Sonal Haladay <br />Staff present: Corinne Strauser-Deputy City Recorder <br />Guests: Nancy Niland-Oswego Heritage Council and Jim Rathbun -Classic Car and Boat Show <br />Representative <br />Chair Tierney began the meeting by asking if there is a board member that might have a <br />potential conflict of interest regarding the funding request by the Oswego Heritage Council -Car <br />and Classic Boat show. Chair Tierney explained that TAC is made up of members that are also <br />board members of other organizations in Lake Oswego, some that benefit financially from the <br />Tourism fund and therefore cannot participate in any discussions. No one had a conflict of <br />interest so everyone was able to participate in the discussion. <br />II. Public Comment -None <br />III. Consideration of Funding Request from Oswego Heritage Council -Car and Classic Boat Show <br />Nancy Niland presented her request for funding the Car and Classic Boat Show in the amount of <br />$10,000 for the promotion of the event. Nancy Niland and Jim Rathbun answered several <br />questions from the board including the itemized cost of promoting the event and the profile of <br />the visitor, including data to support the attraction of visitors 50 miles away. <br />Motion: Edwards moved to approve $10,000 request from Oswego Heritage Council and <br />recommend to City Council. Gaffney seconded the motion. <br />Vote: Gaffney -yes, Tierney -yes, Beebe -no, Edwards -yes, Monihan-yes <br />Motion passes: 4-1 <br />Action: Staff and Councilor Manz will follow-up with the request. <br />IV.
