PARKS, RECREATION & NATURAL RESOURCES ADVISORY BOARD <br />MINUTES -NO QUORUM <br />June 21, 2017 <br />Co -Chair Scott Bullard called the meeting to order at 4:00p.m. at Palisades. <br />Absence of a quorum, no motions or voting will occur. <br />Present: Co -Chair Scott Bullard, James Stupfel, Charles Aubin, Tom Widden, Skip O'Neill, <br />Council Liaison, Brian Gullen, Alternate <br />Absent: Co -Chair Bill Gordon, Mark Hoyt, Heidi Schrimsher, Kimberlie Peeler, Brittany <br />Weiler, Rhys Richmond, Youth Member, <br />Staff: Ivan Anderholm, Director of Parks & Recreation, Jan Wirtz, Superintendent of Parks <br />& Recreation, Bruce Powers, Parks Analyst/Project Manager, Jeff Munro, <br />Park/Natural Area/Golf Maintenance Superintendent, Ann Adrian, ACC Manager, <br />and Dina Balogh, Parks & Recreation Administrative Assistant <br />Guests: Mike Buck, Lake Oswego resident and Iron Mt. PAC member. <br />Parks & Recreation Summer intern: Madeleine Nelson, University of Oregon Student. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />In the absence of a quorum the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Advisory Board (PARKS Board) <br />minutes from May 17, 2017 were not approved. <br />Citizen Comment: <br />Mike Buck. Addressed the board and congratulated Ivan on his Iron Mt presentation before City Council <br />on June 20. He is encouraged by the process and wants to see it move forward. Ivan will present the <br />plan to City Council for approval at the July 18 meeting. <br />CITY COUNCIL UPDATE: <br />• 2017 Council Goal: First in a series of Council discussions exploring options for economical <br />housing for all sectors of the community. <br />• Maintenance Center project will be done in August. <br />• New Police station construction plans have been delayed. The Police station design will match <br />the new City Hall design. <br />• The Council asked staff to explore the feasibility of a city sponsored fireworks display in 2018. <br />• The City Council approved the proposed budget at the June 6 Council meeting. A Resolution <br />was approved to adjust the budget for the fiscal year commencing July 1 by transferring <br />appropriation funds in the Tourism Fund in order to fund recommendations from the Tourism <br />Advisory Committee. <br />• LO School District bond: The execution phase of the bond — planning, design and construction. <br />The planning to establish the conceptual scope, budget and schedule for the anticipated school <br />district projects will be released in October or November. <br />
