Use Water Wisely:
|
Although our annual population growth within the City averages only 0.5% per year, our per capita water demands are some of the highest in the Portland Metropolitan area. During the hot summer months our per capita water use more than doubles, straining our system to its maximum capacity. Unless we reduce consumption significantly we face the need to expand our supply system by 2009 costing tens of millions of dollars. Take our "10 percent" challenge and reduce your summer consumption by 30 to 40 gallons per day. Go to our conservation page for information about wise water use.

For more than 41 years the
City of Lake Oswego Water Treatment Plant (WTP) has
supplied its customers high quality water. We hope that you the consumer can gain additional information
and knowledge by using this web site. We look forward
to the next 41 years.
The plant was constructed in 1967 in what was then unincorporated Clackamas County.
It had an initial treatment capacity of 10 million gallons per day (MGD). The
plant was expanded in 1980 to its present-day treatment capacity of 16 MGD. The
source of all the City's water is the Clackamas River in Gladstone. |
