The presentation, “How To Keep The Golden Years Golden Even Though My Hair Has Turned To Silver,“ will remind us of a great and glorious past and give us the opportunity to look forward to a golden future with enthusiasm. 19548 11a-12:30p Tu 12/10 Sentenced for a Season, Punished for Life Many of us have grown up being told and believing that after a person serves their sentence for a crime, their slate is wiped clean. But the truth does not often bear out this scenario. A felony conviction can restrict travel options, licensing options for employment, housing, and financial aid, just to name a few. What does it mean to our society that 8 percent of our overall US population and 33 percent of African American men who have felony convictions run into these barriers after they serve time in prison? This is the focus of "Sentenced for a Season, Punished for Life," a free conversation with Pamela Slaughteron the program is hosted by the ACC and sponsored by Oregon Humanities. 20140 1-2:30p W 12/4 Knowledge as Power A two-part series.
