Special Meeting (excerpt)
May 6, 2002
Councilor McPeak moved to approve the purchase of the 6.5 -acre Jarvis property at
14110 Stampher Road and to authorize the City Manager to execute all escrow
documents for this acquisition. Monies for the purchase of the Jarvis property will be
funded by $576,000 from the parks fund for land acquisition with the balance of
$1,074,000 will be funded by the 1998 open space bonds for a total of $1,650,000 plus
closing costs.
Councilor McPeak moved that the City Manager continue negotiations with the City of
Portland's Bureau of Environmental Service and with Metro for an intergovernmental
agreement which will reimburse Lake Oswego $500,000 from Portland and $350,000
from Metro with funds to be deposited into the City's open space bond acquisition fund.
Councilor Turchi seconded both motions.
The motions passed with Mayor Hammerstad, and Councilors Graham, Hoffman, Turchi,
McPeak, Rohde and Schoen voting in favor.
