Agenda Item - 2022-05-18 - Number 7i - Waluga NA Comment Farley, Will From: Cheryl Uchida <uchida.cheryl@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 10, 2022 5:48 PM To: Farley, Will Cc: amin.pdx.wahab@gmail.com Subject: [EXTERNAL] Feedback to your May 6 email from Waluga Neighborhood Association Hi Will Because it's been about 2 months since the last TAB meeting of March 9, 2022, I took the opportunity to watch the reruns of that meeting. At first glance for the two projects you've listed on your email here are my comments and concerns. Carman Drive between Waluga Drive and Quarry Road (smaller project on Carman Drl We are aware that a sidewalk and separate bike lane on Carman Drive is contained in the Lake Forest Neighborhood Association Plan for this portion of Carman Drive. In fact this preference is also shown in their pathway/sidewalk connection map for the portion on Carman Drive that is located in the Waluga Neighborhood.Any tree removal along this stretch would also be a serious issue with Waluga NA. We also are very much aware that the landowner and resident on Carman Drive at 4694 Carman Drive have strong issues with the frontage of their property to allow for a sidewalk and bike lane. Quarry Road between Oakridge Road and Boones Ferry Road Despite the fact that this project rose to the top of the list because of the points it earned,we do not favor completing this project. We believe that this project should be removed from your list. Installing a curb-tight sidewalk and gutter along the North side of Quarry Road will severely impact two business frontages and the access way to a condominium complex. There is no need for a pedestrian connection on this side of Quarry Road when there already exists a sidewalk and asphalt pathway on the South side of Quarry Road. Plus we absolutely do not favor any tree removals resulting from this proposed project. Note:Waluga Neighborhood Association would like to attend the TAB zoom meeting to give comments, HOWEVER,this meeting scheduled on the same night at the in-person meeting at Lake Grove Elementary School relating to the Douglas Way pathway between Quarry Road and BFR. Both meetings are important for us to give input. Thank you for receiving our input and feedback. Regards, Cheryl Uchida and Cindy Maddox, Waluga Neighborhood Association Co-Chairs i
