Planningfor new affordable Metro housing in Lake Grove Metro plans to partner with the City of Lake Oswego and the Housing Authority of Clackamas County to build new affordable housing on Boones Ferry Road near the Lake Grove Village Center. Before a developer is selected, Metro wants to learn about local community hopes for this new development. The purpose of this process is to identify ways for this project to provide maximum benefit to future tenants within the requirements of Metro, HACC and Lake Oswego. Goals • Around 50 income-restricted affordable apartments • Variety of unit sizes including family units • Include very affordable units consistent with the regional housing bond approved by voters • Complement the surrounding neighborhood and contribute to Lake Oswego's livability Community input will help us plan for • On-site services • Amenities including common open space • Outdoor public spaces adjacent to the housing • Community involvement in the future design of the development(next phase) The outcome will require balancing community desires with the number of housing units and costs of construction. Success depends on attracting a developer who shares the vision we'll create together. Help make a compelling vision for how this affordable housing can contribute to the success and livability of Lake Oswego. Want to get involved? Metro seeks to engage stakeholders including neighbors, community groups, communities of color, low-income tenants and people who have been homeless. You are invited to join a community stakeholder process that will result in a statement of values. This statement will be part of the developer selection process. Meetings Meetings will occur every few weeks from July through November 2022.There will be opportunities to get input from other community members who aren't at the meetings. This process is not about designing the development, but later there will be opportunities to inform the design. 0y ,w,n J '• .- N1l ' e .;:' .
