To: The Honorable Mayor Joe Buck and Lake Oswego City Council Members,
My name is Bill Erickson and writing you in regards to the proposed wastewater treatment plant you
will be voting on this coming December 6, 2022
I have owned Erickson's Automotive at 101 Foothill Road, one of the properties the city wants to
acquire. Erickson's Automotive has been serving the citizens of Lake Oswego at this location since
April of 1989. I have an active customer base of over 1300 clients with several 3 generation families,
most with Lake Oswego Zip Codes.
Myself, my family, my employees and their families will all be severely impacted in a negative way by
eminent domain taking of our property.
To this point we have not received any assistance in locating property I can move my business to either
from the city or from Universal Field Services, the relocation specialist the city contracted to help in
relocation. In a previous discussion concerning this with Anthony Hooper I was told the city could re-
zone property for us but now states there is nothing available and if there was it would take too long to
re zone a property, even though this project has been in the works since the fall of 2018.
I am a born &raised LO native and have invested my whole life here serving Lake Oswego residents.
I have invested the majority of my retirement savings into purchasing the property at 101 Foothills Rd
to insure I would have secure location for my automotive business. It appears that the value of my
success automotive service business will be taken away with what I assume will be little or no
compensation for the loss of my business.
Maybe retrofitting the old plant will be a less expensive option for the city and far less destructive for
all the affected businesses and their families.
I am happy to discuss this further with any council members in person or on the phone.
