Agenda Packet - 1988-10-05 PM• LAKE OSWEGO RIVERFRONT RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE OCTOBER 5, 1988 I . ROLL CALL Don Potter, Mike Thiel , Frank Zagunis , Ed Osterman, Iry Jones , Tom Kelly. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes approved. III. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None IV. OLD BUSINESS • None V. NEW BUSINESS Committee goals were reviewed and discussed. Two additional goals were added. The motion was made and passed unanimously to accept these goals as final until further progress has been made. The remainder of the meeting was concerned with refining the community interest questionnaire. The committee would like to finish and submit the questionnaire to the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission for its approval so it can be mailed out before the Christmas Holidays. The next meeting will deal primarily with the development of the explanatory draft that will accompany the questionnaire when it is submitted to the PROS Commission for their review. VI. ADJOURNMENT The next meeting was set for 7 :00 PM , Recreation Department conference area, City Hall , Wednesday, November 2, 1988. Overall Goal no. 1 : Determine local interest in riverfront related activities Specific Goals a . Develop a questionnaire b. Distribute c . Tabulate results Overall Goal no. 2 : Establish priorities for recreation related riverfront development . Specific Goals a . Based on success of the questionnaire , list and prioritize river related activities and development • Overall Goal no. 3 : Act as a sounding board for the public ' s concerns as they relate to riverfront development Overall Goal no. 4 : Recommend and support the purchase and development of land and open space for park use . Overall Goal no . 5 : To coordinate , support , and work cooperatively with neighboring areas and groups interested in riverfront recreational opportunities . A � � , .
