Subject: Taxpayer's Guide to Multnomah County Local Government
Finance
I recently received the enclosed "Taxpayer's Guide to Multnomah County Local
Government Finance" from the Multnomah County Tax Supervising and
Conservation Commission. The overview section of this report presents
summary data regarding cost of local government services in Multnomah
County, financial trends, and the impact of Ballot Measure 5. Although this data
• is not directly applicable to Lake Oswego, it is probably not dissimilar to what we
are experiencing. I thought you might find this interesting.

SUBJECT: Possible Lake Oswego Gas Tax-Estimated Revenue
Projections
• Based on estimates of fuel sales at the nine gasoline service stations in Lake Oswego,it is
estimated that each 10 of fuel tax would raise gross annual gas tax revenues of$148,200
($1,235,000 gallons/month x 12 months x 10). If administrative and collections costs
averaged 5% of gross collections, then each 10 of gas tax collection would raise net
annual gas tax revenues of$140,790.
